Art Club is here!
Attention: a new Art Club is here! A couple things you need to know about me. 1. I am always dreaming. Ask my husband, hehe. 2. I love being an artist, but I have been looking for ways I can also serve my community, and get outside the 4 walls of my studio and piles of laundry in my home.
I recently heard about some local homeschooling students in need of some art classes, and that’s when I realized, I need to start an art club! In true entrepreneur form I was quickly dreaming up a logo and putting the word out there. Haha! But seriously, I have thought about teaching classes for a long time, but hearing about the need made me realize, the time is now.
I have taught classes for kids before, and my favorite format is teaching them about famous artists, and then using some of those techniques to create their own art. I am in love with abstract art, so that is my primary focus. I feel like It is an underserved market. Many kids feel like they have to do “realistic” art, and if they aren’t good at drawing then they are not an artist. I am here to bust that myth.
Kids are actually some of the most creative people because they have not yet learned to think of themselves as not being creative. (Just saying this outloud, or writing these words is giving me the feeling I need to teach these classes for adults also, in the not so distant future). Wow, my entrepreneur brain really Is whirring, told ya!
So, if you have kids, and want them to be in the Art Club, check out the “Services” page on my website. So far, I am offering 4 weeks of classes in either the month of September or October. Knowing myself, I will add more fairly soon, but this is a good place to start! Check it out, sign up your kids, and let me know if you are interested in an adult class!
